Days Inn Orlando Universal North Moves Forward with Southwind Hotel Management

January 2, 2014 - St. Petersburg, FL --

Visitors to the Days Inn Orlando Universal Studios North are experiencing a new level of service since Florida hospitality management experts Southwind Hotels and Resorts took on the role of full-service hotel property managers in June 2013.

Located at 2500 West 33rd Street in Orlando, the Days Inn is owned by Shirish Doolabh.

"I looked at three different management companies and found Southwind to be the best to fit our needs. (Having) more than two sets of eyes looking at the same problem means getting problems solved," said Doolabh.

Doolabh is working alongside Southwind's Melissa Jackson to provide a revamped, comprehensive hotel management effort. Jackson, a hospitality industry veteran whose resume includes time at Prism Hotels, DoubleTree and Homewood Suites, is adept at navigating on-the-ground operations and streamlining sales, marketing, and efficiency efforts to maximize ROI.

"It has been a very smooth transition for everybody, about as smooth as it could get. Any time we take over a property for anybody it's always a challenge and a lot of fun," said Jackson.

Before-and-after property management case studies are available on the Southwind Hotels and Resorts website.

Based out of St. Petersburg, Florida, Southwind's array of offerings include revenue management, on-property management, hiring, food and beverage service, as well as services like hotel website design and hotel booking engine technology, for those properties like Days Inn Orlando Universal Studios North who are seeking comprehensive Florida hotel management.

Southwind President Gilles Arditi is a Certified Hotel Administrator with over twenty years of service in hospitality management. Arditi is an authority on property repositioning, property take-over, budgeting, sales and marketing planning and implementation; business planning and implementation; managerial staff development, and new property management. Southwind is also very experienced at navigating negotiations and completing improvements on properties large and small. While the Southwind hotel portfolio includes properties up and down the Eastern Seaboard, most clients are located in Florida.

Arditi and his team also provide specialized management services to troubled properties, including those in need of hotel receivership services. Related areas of expertise include property take-overs and acquisitions, budgeting, renovations and re-openings; taxes, regulations, and ordinances, as well as in hands-on hotel management and negotiations.

Looking forward, the Days Inn Orlando Universal Studios North is positioning itself as a convenient, clean, and accommodating destination for Orlando travelers. Located just off of Interstate 4, amenities include complimentary breakfast and free WiFi. Two eateries - IHOP and the Tavern of Orlando Bar & Grill - are also located on property.

According to Doolabh, "Our long terms goals are of course to keep improving the property and making it a better experience for our guests."

Hoteliers of both independent and branded properties are encouraged to contact Southwind for a no-cost demand management evaluation. The analysis includes an examination of rate parity across channels, an assessment of allocation practices, and a review of the property's online presence.
